THE BLACK MIDI DRESS
In the Fashion world it is known that an L.B.D (little black dress) is one of many staple pieces that every woman needs to own in their wardrobe, but as the times change and different dress lengths later, I feel it is time for the M.B.D (Midi black dress/black midi) to be introduced as a staple.
Make it a staple!
The length of a black midi is perfect, it is a length that can be worn in a casual or formal manner depending on the design and honestly as a woman who is 5” feet tall, this length does not drown me nor does it overpower me.
Do we say yes to the black midi officially being a staple piece? Take time to think this through, and think of the endless ways the M.B.D can rescue you in times of fashion emergencies, and how many people have worn this length and totally rocked it. I personally vote YES to this piece and will make sure to play with different patterns and fabric styles in order to push my agenda.
OUTFIT DETAILS
Let’s break the look down and get the details from top to bottom.
Leather Jacket: Zara
Black Midi: Zara
Necklace: Aldo
Earrings: Zaful
Eyeshadow: Subculture (Anastasia Beverly Hills)
Eyelid gloss: Milk Makeup
This look featuring the black midi made me feel extremely chic, power and strong, and paired with a black leather jacket made me feel Edgy and definitely untouchable. You know that phrase that says ‘You can’t sit with us’, this look says it all, if you are not dressed like the cool kids than move please aside.
Being Bold is definitely still on the agenda, and in the spirit of being bold I chose a simple, yet bold makeup look and accessories to ensure that. In achieving this look I used the colour axis from the Anastasia Beverly Hills subculture palette and the eyelid gloss from milk makeup that I am absolutely obsessed with and chose to wear these gold wave/swirl design earrings from the online website Zaful, that clearly speak for themselves.
Words of wisdom
Bold, Bold , Bold!, That is my new mantra. When putting an outfit together or putting it on, remember that it’s not always about the close you are wearing, although they play a part, it is about the attitude. Fashion to me is about the attitude of the person wearing the clothes.
Dare to be bold
