According to Webster Philanthropy is the practice of giving money and time to help make life better for other people pr as some sources put it, the desire to promote the welfare of others experienced especially by the generous donations of money to good causes.
Indeed that is what Fashion Week Columbus is said to be all about, they have given a student at CCAD (Columbus College of Arts and Design) a scholarship to be able to achieve their dream of becoming a young designer and an influence within this industry.
Getting ready for this event was a bit of a challenge, just like everyday of my life, You picture an outfit in your head, which is mind blowing and chic in your mind at that point, but when having to put it together and trying it on, it does not look of feel quite as I had imagined it, but times like that always spark up something and in the end the creativity just flows. allowing me to play with a canvas where I am the artist and i simply create.
OK lets get back to the event and will discuss my outfit details later,s standing in the CCAD campus awaiting the start of the event, people stuck o the walls like wall flowers , beautiful in their self expression, awaiting for the party to begin. As we all wait a young man stepped in and handed over his hand and introduced himself, Adolfo he said with assertiveness, clearly everyone knew who he was, but sadly at that moment i did not until the event began. We all gathered and took our seats and that young man was introduced as Adolfo Sanchez, the headlining designer for fashion week Columbus, who is internationally renowned for his work. As he took the stage Adolfo shared a bit of his life story and how his journey began, he later on mentioned how he created the collection he will be showcasing, and he said it all started with a song, and then his young Hollywood collection came to life. He was asked a few questions about the fashion industry and later on the audience got to interact withe the young designer where he got to give advise and inspire anyone who wanted to succeed within this business and in creating a brand.
I for one definitely enjoyed receiving new knowledge and insight about the process and the real struggles that take place when you take on a challenge with the goal to succeed…
Getting back to my outfit, I wore a long black maxi skirt, paired with a pin striped shirt and open back strapless metallic square heels as well as a black and gold neck piece and a gold head piece to complete my look. It was quite simple I guess, well like I’ve said before simplicity is never a bad thing, I mean Coco Chanel once said, quote: ” simplicity is the keynote of all elegance.”
